How do I set up the Iru (formerly Kandji) Integration?

BlueTally lets you save time and headaches by automatically adding devices from Iru into the app as assets. Set up your integration in only a few steps:

1) Sign in to your Iru account, click on the profile icon in the bottom-left corner, and then click on Access.

2) Click on the API tokens tab, then copy your organization's API URL for later, and click on Add token.

3) Give the token a name (like BlueTally), and click on Create.

4) Click on Copy token, note it down for later, tick the confirmation checkbox, and click on Next.

5) Click on Configure.

6) Click on Configure Permissions.

7) Scroll down to the Devices section and tick the "Device list" checkbox.

8) If you'd like to import devices from ADE as well, scroll down to the Apple Integrations section, tick the "List integrations", "Get Integration" and "List associated devices" checkboxes, and click on Save.

9) Go to the Integrations page in your BlueTally account, scroll to the Iru section, paste in the required values you noted down earlier, and complete the setup of the integration.

You can also add any ADE IDs you have and map these devices to a status and a location. That way, you can, for example, have all new ordered devices be added to BlueTally with a Procured/Ordered status, and once the devices have been received by the end user and enrolled, they will be checked out automatically to the user and have all the relevant fields populated with data from Iru.

To find the ADE IDs, make an API call to the Iru API. Query the List ADE integrations endpoint, then paste each entry's ID into BlueTally.

That's it! It will take approx. 20 minutes for the first sync to complete.

In order to automatically check out the assets to employees, they have to already be added as an Employee in the app.

The Merge option updates existing assets instead of creating duplicates. When a device synced from Iru has a Device Name (or whichever field you choose under "Map Asset ID to") that matches the Asset ID of an asset already in BlueTally, BlueTally overwrites that asset's Asset Name and Serial Number with the values from Iru. Everything else on the asset, including its full history, stays intact.

All new devices added to Iru will automatically be added as an Asset in BlueTally, and if automatic checkout has been enabled, they'll be automatically checked out to their assigned user in Iru as well. If the device wasn't assigned to anyone in Iru at the time of first sync, it will be automatically checked out once it's been assigned a user in Iru.

If an asset is already in the app with the same Asset ID as a device in Iru, it will be skipped (unless you enable the Merge option).

If you mapped the Asset ID in BlueTally to a field in Iru that is empty for a device (for example, mapping the Asset ID to the Device Name, which can be blank), the device won't be added to BlueTally, as BlueTally requires the Asset ID field to have a unique value.
