Your BlueTally account already comes equipped with customizable dashboards and a full suite of notification widgets so you can keep an eye on what happens with your inventory. The platform itself will provide you with alerts and notifications when these important events occur, even if you don't have the specific widget added to your dashboard.
However, we understand that you may want to be notified about these events while you're not currently logged into your BlueTally account. That's where our Email Notifications feature can help.
Setting up Email Notifications
You can enable Email Notifications in the corresponding section within your account settings. To get there, first click on the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. From the dropdown menu, click "Settings".
Once in your Settings, navigate to Email Notifications. You can scroll down manually or click the Email Notifications option in the left-hand column to be taken there immediately.
Once at the Email Notifications section, you can type in the email addresses of those who should receive notifications via email. If you wish for multiple email addresses to receive these notifications, please separate them with commas.
You can then toggle on the notifications you wish to enable. You will know that these have been enabled when the button appears to the right and blue negative space is visible in the toggle.
Once you've toggled on the notifications you wish to enable, click the blue Save button at the bottom of the section.
The Settings page will then refresh, and you will see a message in a green box confirming your changes were successful!

Receiving Email Notifications
When any of your enabled inventory events occur, the notification email will be sent from [email protected] to all the email addresses you have included in the Email Notifications section.
If you are not receiving these emails, we recommend checking your spam folders to see if they may have accidentally been sent there. You may even want to whitelist [email protected] to ensure the email notifications arrive in your inbox.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enable different email notifications for different users?
Unfortunately, that is not currently possible. The functionality of our Email Notifications feature only allows you to set one universal set of notifications and recipients for your entire BlueTally instance.
There is a dashboard widget for the Pending Offboarding event. Can I enable email notifications for this as well?
Pending Offboarding notifications work differently from the other notifications covered by dashboard widgets. While the Pending Offboarding widget will show you how many Employees are currently in Pending Offboarding status, the notifications you'll receive through the app focus on the individual pieces of equipment that need to be returned to your inventory.
Essentially, these will appear as Due Back notifications when you click the bell icon in the upper-right corner of your screen. To learn more, please see our Knowledge Base guide on Pending Offboarding.
If you are looking for other ways to receive alerts specifically about the Employees who are being offboarded, you can also enable offboarding alerts to be sent via our Webhooks feature.
